Savior

Saba Khan

The image of a warrior, sitting on a horse, a sword in hand, running to conquer the world, for the sake of justice, is so appealing, pleasant, that no one can deny the beauty of it. All of us, in one way or the other, waits for that savior, consciously or subconsciously for most of their lives, apparently for no reason at all, but for every reason it can be.

We need someone, to whom we can complain about all the injustices of this world, who can solve the mysteries of our live and cut the throat of all our problems with just a stroke of his sword. His horse running with a speed, which seldom has seen, to reach the poor and pull them out of the well of hopelessness.

We don’t have the courage to face ourselves, our lives and all that surrounds us. We seek shelter, we hide, we run, we ask for someone else, a God sent to do our work for us, because we have never considered ourselves worthy enough, to take charge, responsibility, action. Nothing wrong in waiting for someone braver and stronger, but one must deserve and then desire. We get, what we deserve, a trial to test us, to get to know our worth.
